Try out board games at the Mauritius Mediathek

On Saturday, 7 November, a free board game afternoon will take place from 15:00 to 213.0 at Mauritius-Mediathek, Hochstättenstraße 6-10. It is being organised by Wiesbadener association Spiel und Kultur e. V. together with the city libraries.

Visitors aged four and over can try out numerous board games – from well-known classics to the latest releases. ‘Dito!’, the Spiel des Jahres 2026, and other award-winning games will also be available. Game explainers will help with selection and explain the rules. For those aged 15 and over, there will also be several rounds of ‘Blood on the Clocktower’.

“Whether it’s Ludo or the Spiel des Jahres: at the board game afternoon, young and old, the curious and the game experts all come together, and that’s exactly what makes the library special: it’s a place where people meet, everyone can join in and have fun,” says Dr. Wolfgang Runschke, head of the city libraries.

As there is a limited number of tables available for playing in the Mauritius-Mediathek, free registration is required at spielundkultur.de/anmeldung. Last-minute attendees are welcome as long as there is space.

Even outside of BrettSpielZeit, games can be played at the city and music library. The game boxes are in the youth section, and the game materials can be borrowed from the service desk.
