Gaming for tolerance: ManyCards against racism
Together with kulturgutspiel.de, we have published a card deck called Vielkarten. They are a contribution to the initiative “Spielend für Toleranz – Gegen Rassismus und Fremdenfeindlichkeit”.
The website kulturgutspiel.de is a non-commercial online magazine about the cultural heritage of games and gaming culture. Together, we have published the Vielkarten. These are 120 playing cards that can be used to play numerous social games. The system of the Vielkarten and the accompanying Excel table are available under a “CC0 1.0 Universal” licence (Public Domain).
The card designs reflect the diversity of our planet and showcase the beauty of our Earth. Natural wonders like Mount Everest in Nepal or Wadi Rum in Jordan stand alongside structures such as the Pyramids of Giza or the Great Wall of China. The illustrations depict people from different cultures. The Vielkarten are thus a contribution to the initiative Spielend für Toleranz. Because gaming connects, it does not divide. It is an expression of equality and creates a framework for coming together, getting to know each other and following rules that apply to everyone.
